The Vendor Call for the Prairie Fibre Festival is Open ❤️❤️

The Vendor Call is open and will remain open until June 1 or until all the booths are filled 😍 I've completed a Vendor Application Form and if your interested in being a vendor send me an email at PrairieFibreFestival@outlook.com and I'll forward you the HTML and PDF files for the application!

I'm looking to provide a broad selection of goods provided by the Fibre Community and since this is Indie Made Market I'll be selecting vendors that have processed, dyed, spun, made or designed (for use in the Fibre Arts) the majority of their items (excluding equipment).  All Applications will be numbered in the order received for future table selection πŸ˜„

Any Potential Vendors that are looking at selling just fleeces or any Farmers looking to display just fleeces can contact me directly at prairiefibrefestival@outlook.com .

And all potential Instructors can contact me directly at prairiefibrefestival@outlook.com . There will be a limited amount of courses available and they will be available to everyone that will attend the Prairie Fibre Festival. They should be about 30-60 minutes in length.

Thanks so much to everyone for you support and continued support ❤️❤️ My Fibre Baby is becoming a reality 😍

FO Splatter Socks!!

How spectacular are these tonals in my Pastel Splatter Socks!!

My supplier started selling sock blanks and so I ordered some to try out. I had an aesthetic I wanted to stay with for the finished product. Meaning that I didn't want to have sock blanks that were aesthetically pleasing to the eye but when Knit up customers think, "well.... that looked better in the sock blank".

As a customer myself, I struggled with the aspect of buying a gorgeous sock blank and when knitting it up it looked completely different ........... and not in a good way.

So the outcome were sock blanks dyed with a splatter effect.

They were overall aesthetically pleasing and not repulsive to look at. They even look a little lack lustre.

But when Knit up..... 😍😍

Like how can you NOT love these tonals in these socks! How each of the 3 colors meld into each other!!

The overall finished aesthetic is exactly what I was going for too! Two socks that look like they belong together! There are subtle differences but they look like they are related. Not thrice married, twice removed and like 8th cousins on your maternal side πŸ˜‚

I'm thinking that after the Edmonton Fibre Frolic I may have to do some more sock blanks for my Etsy Shop 😍❤️ In the mean time there's only 2 left in my Etsy Shop!!

Local Icelandic Lopi is on Sale 😍

We're moving into Spring so I decided to put the Local Icelandic Lopi on sale ❤️❤️ It's normally $28 each and is currently $20 a skein! There's only 12 skeins left in my Etsy Shop on 3 colorways!! Local Icelandic Lopi is Local to Alberta and was spun at Custom Woolen Mills. It's a fabulous Bulky Weight that takes Dye wonderfully and is soft, light and lofty but is a bit rustic. It's perfect and warm enough to make a nice light, lofty and WARM Toque :-)

Grizzly - 2 skeins left

Maligne - 5 skeins left

And Rosebud - 5 skeins left!!

Snag one while you can 😍

Happy Shopping!!

We Have a Date for the Prairie Fibre Festival!!

As I hinted before, after the Calgary Fibre Shindig it was going to bring about a flurry of planning for the Prairie Fibre Festival!! I booked the Lacombe Memorial Centre as the banquet area is HUGE and is adjacent to a coffee bar area that I also rented out! I have plans to use the Coffee Bar area for a Knit in / Spin in area 😍

The banquet area can easily hold 30-40 vendors! There will be a vendor and Instructor call shortly. Over the next few days. I just need to finish making up the applications. So keep your eyes peeled!

In the mean time, I've opened up a Guild Call for Central Alberta. Specifically the Red Deer area. Many guilds are struggling and don't have the financial means to pay for table fees. So there are a select few tables I have reserved for guilds. I want to have attendees be aware of their local guilds and the untapped knowledge they have in the Fibre Arts! So if you know anyone or are a part of a guild in the Red Deer and surrounding area please email prairiefibrefestival@outlook.com for more info!

I'm a firm supporter that knowledge should be passed down through the generations. This is a great way to support that and support local guilds❤️

❤❤ Thank You ❤❤

I am so blown away with how fast the Button Pins in my Etsy Shop have sold in the last 12 hours! My good friend Marlene of Lady Dragonfly Studio  has been super busy getting her online shop ready to open! She's been supplying me with these super cute Button Pins! If you want to check out some super cute Project Bags, Aprons, Notions Bags, Drop Spindle Bags (like the one from the Instagram Giveaway!!) and some super cute Button Pins check out her Online Shop in the link above! It's not open for purchase yet but it will be shortly and you can check out her quality goods 😍❤

There are still a few super cute Button Pins available in my Etsy Shop now! These are the last that I have instock now. I have an order with Lady Dragonfly Studio so I can bring some more with me to the Calgary Fibre Shindig!

I've also added just 1 Find Your Fade Kit - Ana to my Etsy Shop!

It includes a few colorways that I was going to debut at the Shindig (and possibly pop in 1-2 skeins in my Etsy Shop next week for a 24 he Update) but I had such a positive response from the same kit I Made up for Tara, that I decided to make 1 more with the remaining Ana skein! The kit includes 1 skein of each: Nightshade, Columbia Icefield, Ana, Boreal and a Fryatt Hut - all on Anna's Sock!

Happy Shopping!

Updated Yarn Photos in the Etsy Shop 😍❤

Today is day 1 of yarn prep for the Calgary Fibre Shindig! So I've got a goal of 10 pots of yarn to dye for today πŸ˜‰ I have 2 pots going at a time so I should be able to get them done by the end of the day! Then the grind starts again tomorrow ❤

In between Dye setting in the pots, I took a few minutes to take updated pictures of the remaining stock I have! I won't be dyeing up anymore of those colorways for the Shindig but they will make future appearances in my Etsy Shop! I'm loving the idea of keeping my stock and colorways rotating for markets and updates. It helps keep my stock at a manageable amount 😍

So if there's anything you see that you like, you might want to snag it before April 15. Saying that! I'll be putting my Shop on Vacation Mode from April 15-24 so I can have that week for Shindig prep. Basically getting my display down ( or a rough idea πŸ˜‚), making stitch markers and Progress Keepers, making sure items are priced, etc! So if there's anything you want from my Etsy Shop you'll have until April 15 to get it 😍

If you'll be attending the Calgary Fibre Shindig and don't want to chance something being sold before you get there you can always buy it and use coupon code LocalPickup2017 to save the shipping charges and pick it up at the Shindig! Just put "Pick Up at the Shindig" in the comments πŸ˜„ I have a small tub accumulating orders for me to bring as we speak ❤❤

Thanks so much and keep your eyes out for dyepot photos 😍

Delayed FO Photos 😳

My husband has wanted a hand knit sweater for quite a few years and I had just never gotten around to it. I had this stigma in my mind, pretty much like the sweater curse for your boyfriend. Well we've been married for 9 (going on 10 years) and have been together for an additional 6 years before that. Not to mention we have 2 kids and 3 dogs πŸ˜‚ so maybe I made him wait a little long. I'm pretty sure he's not going anywhere now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ So I decided to bite the bullet and to finally Knit him a sweater. It was suppose to be for Christmas 2016 but it didn't get done. The knitting portion was done. That just left seaming the underarms and the zipper but that was quickly done a few weeks after Christmas. Just in time for his birthday!

Pattern : Γ‰milien by Ariane Caron-Lacoste
Yarn : Cascade 220 Superwash Worsted in 1974

He loves the sweater and has worn it often since receiveing it. I've washed it quite a few times. He loves how it's warm but breathes. The miracles of Merino ❤πŸ˜‚

The next FO picture is of my Frozen Socks! With my kiddos I can't knit anything except for mindless stockinette socks. I started these socks in October 2016 for the Calgary Fibre Shindig (Fall Edition πŸ˜‰) and wasn't able to finish them as Christmas knitting was in full swing after! So I casted them off a few weeks ago and they are heavenly!

Yarn : Prairie Dye Studio MCN Sock in Ana

I've worn them often since casting them off and have already pilfered a skein of Maligne on MCN Sock bc this base is complete heaven!

I have a few skeins left in this colorway on the Anna's Sock base in my Etsy Shop!

Woodland Animals & Crafty Foxes Project Bags Added to the Etsy Shop!!

I'm in full swing prep mode here for the Calgary Fibre Shindig! I had 41 bags cut out a month or two ago and my goal is to get them all done for the shindig! I was able to finishe 11 of them recently and have listed them in my Etsy shop.

1 Medium Crafty Foxes

1 Sock Crafty Foxes

6 Woodland Animals w/Mustard Contrast Fabric

2 Sock Woodland Animals w/Birch Contrast Fabric

I'm hoping to get a few bags listed to the Etsy shop as I get them done. I didn't want to do an update but it seems like there will be small mini updates until the Calgary Fibre Shindig! I want my online customers to have the same accessibility to the products I bring to my markets. So I'm tossing around the idea of doing a 24 hour update via Etsy with a small selection of yarn I'll be bringing to the Calgary Fibre Shindig. Nothing's written in stone yet but if I'm able to have the extra time available before Apr 22 to to this I will definitely make it happen!

Keep your eyes peeled 😍
